Middle and Lower Provo:
Fall fishing has arrived on our river system. Flows have dropped dramaticallyfrom our high flows of this summer. We are just starting to see the fall foliage change color. The next few weeks should be a great time to get out and enjoy both sections of the Provo. Mornings have been fishing a little slow on both sections. Things start to pick up around 11am continues thru the early afternoon. Caddis, PMDS, and fall Baetis are all hatching right now. When things slow down small midge larva have been bringing fish to net. Dry fly fishing has also been very good with Caddis and Hoppers. On those sunny and windy days tie on a hopper and cover some water. Below river road is a great with the high grasses. This is the preferred way to fish with Rufus the “White Dog”. Keep moving! With the kids back in school and flows down, now is a great time to experience Utah fall fishing.
